Thao was born in 1994 in London of Vietnamese parents; during the Vietnam War, her uncle served as a jet pilot in the Republic of Viet Nam Air Force, and her grandfather was a Captain in the Republic of Viet Nam Army.
Training: Thao was an active participant in music and drama and, while commencing A levels, decided to try her hand at musical theatre, attending a performing arts school in Fulham for three hours each Saturday; her singing teacher put her forward to audition for Miss Saigon. Previously, she has won a Korean YouTube singing contest, performed for Princess Anne, performed at The O2, and been selected from thousands of UK performing arts students to perform the opening solo of a show at the Albert Hall. Thao has been studying for a degree in Primary Education specialising in Music. However, she has now chosen to pursue a degree in dance studies. Other than singing and dancing, her hobbies include playing the piano, gymnastics, trampolining and cheerleading; she is vice captain and the flyer for her university cheerleading squad.
Thao is extremely excited to be making her West End debut in Miss Saigon.
