Nick started his career in sound at the Library and Forum Theatre in Manchester. During this two year spell he sound designed and operated numerous productions including Follies, Merrily We Roll Along, Pacific Overtures, Tommy and Blood Brothers.
In 1991 Nick joined Autograph Sound Recording, after seven years as part of the sound team on Cameron Mackintosh's productions of Les Misérables and Miss Saigon.
Autograph are a leading British sound design and equipment hire company, responsible for numerous theatre productions at home and abroad, including My Fair Lady, Les Misérables, Cats, The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Beauty And The Beast and Miss Saigon.
As either Associate Sound Designer or Production Sound Engineer, Nick has been responsible for several concert productions of Les Misérables, including the 10th Anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall, open air versions at the 1997 Chelmsford festival and Cardiff Castle, Raymond Gubbay's productions of Madame Butterfly and Aida at Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham's NEC and The Secret Garden for the RSC.
His theatre work also includes the prestigious Hey!Mr Producer - Cameron Mackintosh's 30th Anniversary Royal Gala at London's Lyceum Theatre, Les Misérables and Martin Guerre UK Bus & Truck tours, The Pyjama Game and two seasons of Divas at the Donmar . Nick's latest Sound Designs include Northern Odyssey at Belfast's new Arena - a one-night gala event, celebrating the end of the first year of the new Millennium - and Bounce a street dance extravaganza at the Roundhouse, London.
Nick has most recently worked on the sound design for Cameron Mackintosh's National tour of Miss Saigon , a concert version of Les Misérables in Belfast, the Scandanavian Arena Concert Tour of Les Miserables, Simply Heavenly at the Young Vic Theatre, Pacific Overtures at The Donmar Warehouse (for which was nominated for an Olivier Award) and Beautiful & Damned at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. |
